Door Window Guides
Hello all,
Had a problem with passenger window rolling up, it would make it halfway then retract down. Did my search here, found alot of info, possible coverage under a recall, called local stealer, said my VIN was not part of recall. Bought the parts, $7.94 for one pair, and with the great help of DANL, completed the task.
As you can see from the pic. one guide had broken where the little barrel on the cable attaches, causing the window to bind about halfway up, and return down. (It broke on the top side, thus only one side was pulling up) Also, perhaps because I live in Vermont, there was quite a bit of grit on the guide and metal rail it slides on. Some quick cleaning, and lube, now works very very smoothly.
Took about 1.5 hours, and was fairly easy to do. Dealer quoted 2hrs, so if you have this problem and not covered, have a go at it and save yourself some coin.
Again, thanks DANL for your help.

Your welcome.
Hey Pete RD,
Love the rims on your car.. Have the same color and have been thinking about the RS4 rims. Are yours replica's or OEM? 17" or 18"? Any troubles.

Dan_L, I keep getting Host Socket unreachable message.
Dan, I tried accessing the link directly and doing the right-click save but the Word file I get just says "Host Socket Unreachable". Any ideas? Could you send it directly to my email? Thanks, Charlie

Re: Here is a link to it, it should work.
Do you know what the part number of the blue plastic window guide is that is shown in your "fix-it document"??? I need that exact piece but the audi dealership makes it sound like I can only get it as part of a bigger component that costs $150. Do you know where I could get one of these parts for the $6 you claim. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
