Default I would expect the fans to come on ...

..in high speed occasionaly when you're AC is on and you're sitting still, high outside temps etc.. If you are concerned it only take a few minutes to check the primary fan.

First I would visually verify the primary fan is working. The primary electric fan located on the engine side of the radiator. Take the TBB plastic cover off so you can see the fan, if it comes on when the car is running and AC is on it is working fine.

I had a hard time seeing the fan so I checked the fan blades to see if they spun freely while the fan was shut off. With the car OFF and Cool take the plasic cover off on the TBB (again so you can see the electric fan). You can squeeze your hand in between everything to the check to see if the blades spin freely. If not it probably has the rubber gasket stopping the fan. (Problem I had).

Just be sure the fan is off and nothing is going to make it come on when you reach in to check.(Disconnect battery if you feel it is necessary) Use all precautions when checking this and if your not comfortable have a mechanic check it for you.

Default I installed your label file and looked at the measuring blocks, but mine seemed normal...

I had none of the asymmetries (L/R) that you saw. My fan also always slows down after a time, even in Scottsdale AZ weather.

I'm sure my tests were very cursory, so I can't necessarily provide the level of detail that your message provides. But, if there is something specific that is still useful to you, do let me know and I can now easily try again (it took some doing just to get the label file onto this old PC with Windows 98).

By now, I suspect you have been to the service department. Have they found any specific problem? I feel rather confident that your situation is abnormal, and probably due to some electrical, sensor, or computer problem.

Default Thanks for the clear info. Checked mine...

All three fans turns easily. The noisiest of them comes on and off depending on whether the AC is on and the temperature outside and of the engine. Seems like its operating normally. Too bad about that jet engine sound!

Default Thanks... for the assistance...

I called Niello in Sac and they have appts. that are over one month out! Going to Lasher is not a choice.

So, I plan to make a day trip to Stevens-Creek sometime soon (2-day advance notice is all they need) and spend the day at the beach in Santa Cruz with the rental car.
