Default There are a couple of links in the Audio/Electronics section of the FAQ

Bookmark the link. Use it often.<ul><li><a href="http://www.netwiz.net/~jds/files/a6_links.html#audio">Stoney's A6 FAQ Audio/Electronics</a></li></ul>

Default Do a search in the allroad forum, more there than in Stoney's FAQ.

However, I highly recommend that you bookmark the FAQ, you'll use it often!

Default I am trying.. Have the adapter from my A4, but it seems that factory installed changer cables...

are the question. I don't have one. Next option for me is to pull the deck and run the cable through the glove box...

Default Issues re 2002 vs 2003

From what I understand:

2003 - No cd changer wires in the trunk. You need to pull your radio and input your signal there.

2002 - There are CD changer wires in the trunk. However, the radio is different from 2001 and earlier Audi's. Thus, most line-in adapters (e.g., Blitzsafe) for Audi will not work with 2002s. (I found out the hard way).

Default I have and it works great. 2002 w/Bose and CD changer cable in the trunk.

I use the Blitzsafe adapter, but it took them three tries to get me the right cable. If you call Blitzsafe, talk to Melanie or Ira (he's the owner).

They sent me one that connected to the head unit, but it wasn't wired properly. I think I only got sound out of the front speakers.

Also, in iTunes (assuming you use Mac OS), select all songs and adjust the volume +60% in the get info window, then sync your iPod. This will make the sound level about right with the iPod set to 50% volume

Default 2002 A6 with Bose w/ in-dash 6-CD?

Blitzsafe says it has to go thru the head unit, not trunk. Is that how you did it?

Default We listened to new iPod... better sound that old, but not good enough for us to buy one...

The convenience is undeniable, as is the coolness factor. But with good headphones, the sound was still too bright and a bit hashy (some RF intermodulation seems to remain, even in the new design).

Perhaps this is why I don't have more bookmarks in the FAQ. But, post your candidates here, and I'll add the whole thread to the FAQ.

Default I wish the head unit would play MP3 discs; the iPod convenience in the otherwise lousy car listening

envrionment (I can't tell the difference between a little iPod or MP3 degradation with all the road, engine and traffic noise around me) is - for me - off the chart.

Plus, with it jacked into the car stereo, you get the stereo's audio controls to help style the sound a bit.
