Slow Window Fix

Slow Window Fix
I have just fixed my "slow window" (Drivers side) after great help from DAN L who kidnly gave me the part number for the window guides. However I found a couple of problems not mentioned in his excellent post which I thought might be worth a mention or even inclusion in STONEYS FAQ. Mine is a EURO 98Q so maybe there are some differences, I don't know(Please refer to DAN L's post to understand this). Anyway I found that having released the four T45 bolts I could not pull out the inner window frame as it was stil held by the rubber sealing strips. The inboard (nearest hinge) was no problem as the rubber could be released by unclipping two push in clips but the outboard (nearest door release) was a different matter. This seemed to be riveted in place to the door and in the end I had to carefully cut it free to enable the inner frame to be pulled out ( sounds OK but in truth I made a bit of a botch of it, ripped rubber etc. and a lot of very bad words). Otherwise it went exactly as DAN L described. One other minor point the window glass fixing screws were T25 not T15 om my car. Hope this is of some help to someone.
Many thanks again to DAN L for saving me £100!!

Re: huh? no european recall?
No way, I guess we're too understanding on such matters. I checked with my local stealers (still love that word!) and they said "recall?, what recall, no prblem there sir!
You guys must shout a lot louder than us!
