Default Nav+ retrofit : the "How to" website

(I searched, this should not be a repost)

There is a website that gathers all relevant information about it : www.tvwiz.net/navigation

Last summer, its writer (Dan from the VW Vortex forum) helped me take the plunge for my A6. I could not thank him enough !

He worked out the NA maps issue, at least for Canada, I think. But have a look for yourself...

Outstanding site - my thanks to the author.

Based on this info, I still feel comfortble with my decision to get a Garmin Street Pilot III. $800 total, no installation, probably beter imaging, and no loss of cd or tape function. Although the system isn't perfect, it is amazing, and I recommend it.

Default Question re: Garmin

I've sort have been intersted in getting one but I am having trouble inderstanding the operability. How do you enter a new destination while your on the road. eg wanting to find a resturant in the destination city.

You can email me if more convenient.

If anyone can provide info on OEM NAVI for my vehicle it would be greatly appreciated. Possible fabricator's in Illinois would help also.
