Rotors and Pads
#11
i'm currently running DBA rotors with porterfield r4s pads..very happy with them...no warping issues
but the porterfield pads are a bit pricey compared to mintex redbox. the mintex has the wire/plug for the brake wear sensor where as the porterfield's do not. the porterfield's do decrease about 70% of the oem brake dust as a bonus..
the combination of dba longlife gold drilled/slotted rotors and porterfield pads has, in my estimation probably knocked off about 5 to 7 feet of 100 mph to 0 mph braking with greater protection from fade as opposed to the oem set-up but certainly not up to par with the big brake kits . my combination probably gets ya half way to the stop-tech combo for $550 shipped versus $2k+ for various big brake kits.
unfortunately, i have not tracked the car but i am planning on doing the audi club of north america drivers safety school at lime rock in ct. so, i will see if this set-up can hold up its end of the bargain when it is asked to progress to the next level of performance.

Same setup is appropriate for S4? (he asks, unconciously fingering his credit card)
That's a good price compared to even the BIRA ones, isn't it? And no reports of warping?
Ah, I see from your other post that these are the ones with the Kanga Paw ventilation. I remember reading about those. I'll put this thread in the FAQ. I see you posted these links, which I repeat here just for convenience:
