Default Update on Limp mode, (not personal)
Researched the forum and found water ingress problem with the 2000 4.2. Code reading incorrect gear ratio. Car would would fine in tip mode but shift to limp mode in auto and I mean with a hard thump. TB Group 01 Number 00-2 addresses the issue. A new harness fixed the problem. Part No: 4B0 091 698. Big thread on Limp Mode.

Default Had this problem on 1997 A4. Blew oil out of boot, reset computer, worked fine after.

had an A8 stuck in limp, harness and valve were replaced and it was fixed, granted it took 4 weeks
