Default Anyone with a Bentley - Help? (Symphony II radio)

I posted last night about trying to swap my Sympony I for a Symphony II. The new unit powers up with the word "TRANSPORT" on the display and then switches itself off again.

In searching the internet, I found an interesting entry in a 'contents' page on the Bentley site, under the "91 - Radio, Telephone, Navigation, Trip computer" section:

"Transport mode, deactivating"

Would someone with a Bentley post or email me what this procedure is? PLEASE? This sounds like what my problem is.<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/a6/msgs/227613.phtml">Previous post here.</a></li></ul>

Default This is the only info I found in the Bentley manual regarding the Symphony radio install...

Radio, activating anti-theft coding by entering fixed code number:

The radio is delivered with a fixed code. "Fixed" code means that every radio with anti-theft coding is programmed with its own code. This fixed code is still not active upon delivery from the factory.

The radio is ready to play and the anti-theft coding for the radio is only activated after the fixed code is entered.

The anti-theft coding is activated as follows:

- Switch radio on.

- Press TP and RDS buttons simultaneously until "1000" appears in digital display.

- Release buttons.

- Press station buttons 1-4 to enter fixed code number from radio card sticker.

In this process, button -1- is used to enter the first digit of the code number, button -2- for the second digit, etc.

- Press TP and RDS buttons simultaneously again until "SAFE" appears in frequency display.

- Release buttons.

Shortly thereafter, a frequency is displayed automatically.

Default Thanks. But you didn't see an entry about "Transport mode, deactivating" ? Or was what you ...

...posted under that same category? Thanks again.

No, I did not see any reference to "transport mode" anywhere in the Bentley manual, incl. section 91

Default The Bently index on-line at their web site indicates this as a topic at the web page at the link I

copied. However, this is for the 1998-2003 version of the manual. I have the 1998-2002 version, and even with the latest on-line update, the same place (group 91 radio - 2001 and later) does not show that topic. You need to find someone with the latest Bentley A6 manual. It is not in the one most of us have.

Hope this helps,

Did eBay provide you with the security code? Transport might be the language that requires the code

Default Re: Anyone with a Bentley - Help? (Symphony II radio)

I looked im my manual and it says: "The radio system is disabled (switched-off) when Transport Mode is activated. This is necessary to reduce battery drain when vehicles are transported over long distances or stored for longer periods of time."

It looks like you need a Vag-com tool to activate the radio. "Channel 99 Adaptation 0

Input adaptation value XXXXX

Indicated on display (example only):

- Enter desired adaptation value (e.g.: 00001 or 00000)
- 00000 = disable Transport -Mode
- 00001 = enable Transport -Mode "

I hope this helps.
