Will 19" wheels fit on a 2.8? and if so, with what Tire diamiter. Who has pics?
I have an opportunity here and would like to see pics if so. I know Ive said they were silly before, but I have a deal with springs and might consider it as one of my last mods since the 4.2's are starting to make way in my budget then will swap them over if it all goes as planned. Only concern is 19 x 8 on a 2.8 and does the 4.2 take this size or wider at 19 x 8.5? Just want to use them for the spring/summer on my 2.8 since I plan to trade in around June/July for a 4.2.
Pictures on a 2.8, advice on tires (255/35/19?). TIA.

235/35/19 are probably the largest....
... that will fit. The next size up is a 255/30 but that will cause problems with your fenders.
I'm always amazed at those folks that say "it only rubs a little" -- that's kind of like saying "it only bleeds a little".....
Any rubbing will ultimately ruin a tire - do you really want to "rub" a tire at 80mph?

Probably not a good idea ...
.
Those that will fit without rubbing have a very low load rating.<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/a6/msgs/110254.phtml">A6/S6 tire options</a></li></ul>

You won't have many choices at that size...that's the size I have...
255/35/19...AFAIK they are only available in the CSC2s and Pirelli P-Zero...maybe more...but those are the only ones I know of...
The RS 6 wheel is 19x9 so an 8.5 wheel would be fine.

Actually 245/35/19 is the next size up....
I just purchased a set of 19x8,5" SSR GT3 with 245/35/19 Bridgestone S03 from tirerack for my 2.8. The first picture is all I have seen of my new wheels so far though.... ( Depressing!!
I used to have 19x8" Mille Miglias on my A4 and then I put them on my A6 when I sold the A4. I had Yokohama AVS sport 235/35/19 on then, and there's plenty (read enough) room to go up to 245s. I wouldn't go any wider than that though.

They look so huge on your's but normal on Fin's?
Thanks Kitora, just what I wanted to see. I was hoping you would post again. Honestly, have you had ANY issues on the A6 with 235/35/19? Rubbing, when 3 passengers are in, etc. Thanks In Advance.

Yes I noticed from tirerack that the load ratings drop with lower profiles...
you have to be carefull with a heavy A6 especially with the 60/40 weight distribution. My 45 series tires wre rated 1400+ lbs ea. whereas teh 40 series tires 1300+ lbs ea.
