60k mile service- what needs to be done, what else should be done and where in NorCal
Search doesn't work on the NorCal forum yet.... I guess there needs to be over 3 pages on that forum to check for shop names.
I'm looking at doing the 60k mile service on my '00 A6 2.7T. According to my manual I 'could' wait until 75k miles, but I don't want to risk it. Especially after today's stories.
Any independent shops that can do this in the Bay Area (fwiw- live in East Bay, work in Sunnyvale)? I'd like to call around and get some quotes. If not, I'm stuck at Diablo Audi in Concord.
Any ideas on total cost just for comparisons sake?
Anything else that I need to have done at the same time as preventive maintenance?
Gracias & Cheers-
Ernesto

Try Burlingame Independent in...
San Mateo. I've been using them for over 10 years (3 Audis) and have had good luck with them. Jim March, the owner, is a really easy going, nice guy. They only work on Audis and VWs. Phone # (650) 548-1530.

We took Chris's advice a couple years ago and were very happy...
Our A4 tranny went into limp mode a few days before our wedding. Nobody I called knew what the problem could be, and at the time the dealer service appointment wait was a month.
Only Burlingame Independent offered the possibility that I had also found on the web: that oil or water in the electrical connector boot on the tranny can cause "limp mode" to happen. Made an appointment just 2 days away. They blew it out for me, reset the computer, and all was well. No charge (for that part of the service). Can't beat that.

I've had good luck with San Carlos German Motor Works......
I trust them much more than the dealer.<ul><li><a href="http://www.germanautorepair.com/">http://www.germanautorepair.com/</a</li></ul>
