Default Calif Extended Warranty blues

ugh.. lots of great info in the archives, but seems our great state has blocked most from selling extended breakdown coverage. I've only found GE, Continental .. and Diable Audi uses Ford Motor Comp, as they also have that dealership. GE and Ford are about $3300, and Continental is $2300. Diable sound like they would deal a bit on theirs... anyone have experience with any of those? .. or know of other calif offers? (all are for 100k mi, and $100 ded) Thanks!

Default a bit more info..

The Ford and GE are inclusive of all items, with an exception list of standard maintenance or wear parts, while the Continental "lists" parts covered.. so that could get a bit sticky.. as Cont. does not cover Navigation, while the others do...

Were GE and Continental online offers or did you get your quote from a dealer?

Default Find a dealer that reps Warrantech's Repair Master...

Its an exclusionary contract that covers most of the important items, ie, turbos. Got a quote of $2300 for 5/100 from Commonwealth Audi in Santa Ana, 714-565-7500.

Default It's good to buy an "exclusionary" policy, like the first 2 you mention...

Also, do you know if Turbos are covered by these policies? I'm having a hard time finding a CA exclusionary policy with Twin Turbo coverage. Easy to find outside of CA

Default I got a quote of $3500-4500 from GE last weekend...

They're certainly not going to get my business. Then I called 2 other dealers in south bay and got more resonable quotes of around $2400. One is from Heritage which I'll probably go with.

Default Geesh. These extended warantees are big $$

Nearly 10% of the new car price? Is it really essential to have?

I'm not stupid, I know my 2.7T will cost a lot to fix out of warantee, but 10%?
