I am considering lowering my car, but there are so many choices out there, I am trying to decide between H&R coils or the eibach pro kit springs and pro damper set. Which is more comfortable and better handling? I want the ride to be similar to stock comfort.

of a sport package to the eibach/eibach set up is not that much different. I went from NON-sport, so there was a larger differece. I have asked probably 10 people who have ridden in the car, from car nuts to middle age women about the ride, and none thought it was bad at all. You do feel more of the road, but on the otherhand, there is so much less dive/squat/pitch/yaw/wallow that the overall effect is one of a firmer and MUCH more controlled feel, whihc makes the ride BETTER IMHO, not worse. Ride is not just about whether you feel the bumps more

the ride is much firmer now but still comfortable althought the non-sport shocks are not up to task; not having enough rebound. In addition, I have heavy 18"s on wider sportier tires that also contribute to the harder ride.

If stick with stock tires or very light set of 17" you will be very happy and the ride quality you sacrifice will be a lot less compared to the control you gain from the set up; but do the shock altogether if you don't already have the sport package; would save you labor cost when you put them on seperately

but what if i already have the sport package, should i just get the springs then

Eibach claimed that the their shocks were especially designed for their springs (being progressive instead of the stock's uniformed rate springs).

On the other hand, Eibach also claimed that their springs were designed with stock shocks in mind??? kinda contridict themselve a bit there didn't they.

Speaking from experience from my leased A4 with sport package, I found their sport shock very aggressive on the rebound side when the car was new and with about 35,000 miles on it now it felt just right. The stock shocks will run out quicker than the aftermarket so if you were ever thinking about putting back the original springs back better keep those shock with them and get new one. But if you on budget, the stock sport will be just fine. I was told that most stock shocks will only be effective for 50,000. after that they will start losing it rebounding ability and loosen up the ride and after 80,000 miles or so your car will bounce more than once after each bump.
