Brake caliper tool for changing pads?
A while back I read about a tool that would force the brake caliper open so the pads would be easy to change. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
I did a search but most hits seemed oriented to rear brake calipers. I will be switching my Stoptech fronts back and forth between Axis (street) and Pagid Orange (track). I will be leaving the rears with Axis.
Thanks,
Andy

Re: Brake caliper tool for changing pads?
There are a few different ways to push the caliper
pistons back into the bore. A pad spreader is one
of the easier ways. See the link.<ul><li><a href="http://www.ontool.com/store/product/1054-3258">http://www.ontool.com/store/product/1054-3258</a</li></ul>

That tool would work great for the fronts but....
....it won't do a thing with the rear brakes. The rear brakes have to be twisted back in so they require a different tool.
Also, you could just use those EZ-lock clamps for the fronts. That's what I use, plus I can use them on everything else around the house.

Correct. but he asked about the fronts, if you need a tool...
...for the rears, I purchased one from Harbor
Freight Tools on-line. It also works great.
Follow the link. If the direct link does not
show up just type "caliper tool" in the keyword
description search.<ul><li><a href="http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=40732">http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=40732</a</li></ul>
