Are 2.7T, 4.2, and S4 Rotors the same?
Are the front rotors all the same for these cars, well at least the 2000-2001 A6's with the HP-2's? I'm looking at upgrading mine, since they are slightly warped. Also are the back rotors the same on a 2.7T as a 2.8 as long as they are both quattro? I did do a search, but I didn't find th answers I was looking for.
TIA,

Yup, fronts are the same...rears are a solid-rotor on the 2.7T and
vented on the S4 and the A6 4.2. You may be right about the 2.8s rear rotors being the same as the 2.7T.

Try links in the FAQ about BIRA rotors, my choice if mine warp again...

Thanks: Stoney
Mine are still factory, and have already been turned once, down to the limit. I am starting to get the dreaded pedal/ steering wheel shake again, so now it's time for some aftermarket ones.

Turning does not solve it. Replacement of rotors is the only fix. Dealers should know this.
Further, the rotors are prone to this, although newer ones are supposed to be less so. I'd make the dealership replace them, then break them in using a specific protocol found at the StopTech website. That's what I did, and its working (see Rotor warping and how to avoid).
From my FAQ:
