WARNING All Radar Users!!!!************
If you live in a state that allows such devices then your ok....but if you live in Canada (Ontario) the OPP have a NEW radar detector detector in there wings. It is called the Septre, this device will detect all NEW radar detectors even BEL,Passport, and V1!!! I Called the companies and there is no FIX for this problem YET...
I was pulled over by the OPP last week. And the officer said to me "I suspect you have a radar device"... I said "no i don't, maybe it is the GPS in the car..." hahah he said "NO, i will have to search your car..." I said " No problem, go a head.." Now knowing my laws in Ontario i know that the OPP can't search "my person" without cause of alcohol or drugs, which i do neither.
So i just put the detector in my pocket. The office searched the car and all he found was a manual for it in the glove box. What a moron i was to leave that in there...but he still could not search me.
So the reason i am writing this is to let everyone know if they are pulled over for suspect radar do this 1) put it in your pocket or 2)have a envolope in the car, stamped with proper postage with a mailing address on it and if you get stoped put the detector in there and seal it.
The Police can't open mail without a search warrant and that requires just cause to get such.
End result saved myself a $175 dollar fine and loosing my 400$ detector... well worth it.
Another tid-bit OPP just purchased 80 of these devices for there car's so if you are passing through Ontario just be prepared to be stoped if you are using a detector.!!!
If your detector is hard wired in your car...DON'T COME TO ONTARIO...they will rip apart your car!!!

Re: Will they even gank it if you are not from OT??
Yes they will take it even if you are not from Ontario, If you don't turn it on they can't detect it. If you use it in Ontario it is Illegal and they can take the device.

BS Alarm.... Can't believe V1 can be detected due to the metal case
which does not allow radio leakage... This according to Valentine site...
I'm soooooo afraid now...
maybe I'll just dump my V1 now?
Nahhh,...
Guess I'll just have to avoid Ontario instead...
Good (not great) story though...
The sky is falling, the sky is falling...
weeeh ha!
Thanks for the chuckle, my friends from uppa U.S.
BTW, Washington state alreay has these detector decetors and my buddy a policeman sez V1 is NOT detectable... at least not yet...
