Does anyone know the key-remote codes for the '02s...
I want the key to control my windows, but the codes are different than the pre-'02s.
I absolutely don't want the rolling locks...just the window control. The dealer only knows the rolling locks.
If anyone has the codes, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Re: Huh? Add IIRC to the end of the old code?
There is a integer in the chart, I dont have it in front of me, but just have them add that +(number) to what is in your car.
It worked on my 2002 4.2
Good Luck

Recoding a 2002 to add (or remove) features...
(The abbreviation IIRC = If I Recall Correctly.)
I think the 2002 A6/S6 works like the 2001 and before, except that you need a "Twin-com" version of the VAG-com interface to access some features. The 2002 has the new "Symphony II" radio, which may or may not have a different code representing the stock set of features that are enabled.
According to this message (<A HREF="https://forums.audiworld.com/a4gen2/msgs/89406.phtml">https://forums.audiworld.com/a4gen2/msgs/89406.phtml</A>), the dual K-line "Twin-com" version of the VAG-com is needed to access the Central Locking features. I have a Twin-com, if you need one.
I would assume the codes for 2002 may be the same as for 2001. But, if they are not, we can figure this out....
A little tutorial: Codes are entered and read by VAG-com in decimal format. But, when converted to binary, each place or bit corresponds to a feature of the car.... To turn on the automatic windows, for example, a given bit gets changed from zero to 1. In decimal, this would correspond to adding some integer that is of the set 2^n. We would just have to figure out which bit it was, then add it to the code that your car already exhibits in Central Locking. (To remove a feature, one subtracts the number. )
The page for the 2002 A4 (which uses Central Convenience, not Central Locking) shows an example of binary and decimal codes I was describing:
<A HREF="http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/cars/audiB6.html">http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/cars/audiB6.html</A>.
Ross-Tech has a page for the 1998-2002 A6/S6, but it seems relatively sparse on detailed directions:
<A HREF="http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/cars/applications/100a6.html">http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/cars/applications/100a6.html</A>.
Fortunately, Audiworld has a tech article for the 1998-2001 A6, and probably works for 2002 A6/S6. Link is below....
To code the automatic window feature on your 2002, do this:
1. first find the code already programmed and write it down.
2. Then look at the tech article below, and see if your "stock" code matches what the article says. The stock code for 2001 "Symphony I"radio, stock settings, is 15885. If yours matches this, then just follow the directions.
3. If it doesn't match, then figure out what the "added value" for the desired feature was for 2001 according to the following page. I believe it is +64. So, add that to your 2002 stock code. Enter the sum, and then test out your features.
A6 coding instructions:<ul><li><a href="https://www.audiworld.com/tech/elec36.shtml">https://www.audiworld.com/tech/elec36.shtml</a</li></ul>

This place cracks me up. I've been hanging out at a photography forum (new camera) and the
spats here are fun compared to the way over the top seriousness that these camera folks take their posts for.
I've spent a lot of the last couple days reading/catching up at the camera site, and coming back here is like coming home. AudiWorld (the A6 forum specifically) is a cool place.
If I replace my A6 with some other car someday, I'm not leaving!
