How do I adjust the HID low beams?
#3
that would be too high
I hear the comments about them being too low (although I don't know that I agree).
But if you adjust them to hit street signs then they will be straight forward like high beams. That is a very bad idea. You'll blind everyone.
HIDs have a small amount of leakage light that illuminates street signs. And they do illuminate street signs. The first thing I noticed when I got my car is how street signs seem to shimmer purple because they are reflecting the color of your HIDs instead of halogen yellow.
So, if my HIDs make them look purple, then they must be illuminating them, eh?

Go to dealer, say " Please adjust my low beams" ....
It doesn't take too long and if you call ahead he can probably do it while you wait, especially since you are a new customer.

Re: How do I adjust the HID low beams?
Very Easy. Behind each light assembly there is a White Hex nut with a gear assembly below it. I think its 11 or 14 MM. Mark the gear assembly with a felt marker so you know where you started. Pull the car in the Garage and close the overhead door. or find a brick wall. turn Counter clockwise approx 1/2 Turn. you will see the light creep up. If you search the archives you will see where I found this info.
Good Luck

There is a second adjuster outboard of the obvious one. It is at an angle
reached through a hole on the edge of the fenders. The Bently manual says to turn it in the same direction and the same amount as the other screw. Given the two screws and centering the autoleveling system (need VAG-COM), you might want to tweak it a little bit and then ask for the dealer to adjust the headlights the next time you are in for service.

Same thing.. My cars a month old. Brought it to the dealer
and they adjusted starting point for leveling. It is fine now. Great dealer, when I called them about it, they asked if I could bring it in that day. I said "wow" what service. They said it's a safety issue so they wanted to take care of it right away. Brought it in the next day, Saturday morning.

Re: How do I adjust the HID low beams?
i was told to park the car nose to a garage or wall. make a line where the nose of the grill would be on the wall. back up 25 ft. use the adjusters so the cutoff is even w/ the line on the wall or garage. (then i adjusted mine just a hair lower). hope this helps
