Default Add another one to the list....found source of vibration on highway

Took car to dealer for oil change. I was back in the shop talking to the tech. I am getting my spring/shock intall done somehwere else, but he was pointing to all the stuff that needs to come apart to do it.

All of a sudden he says "man - that control arm ball joint looks crappy." He wiggles the wheel. Sure enough, both sides are bad.

Add this to the list of things gone wrong with the best car I have ever owned:

7/99 build date
o2 sensor
Two (2) water temp sensors
Seat heater switch
Seat heater element wiring
Seat bracket
Lower drivers seat leather and springs
Radio
Three (3) Fuel Sender Recalls
Headlight washer pump
Various cup holder 7 times
Rear Brake Rumble - still investigating
Two (2) window regulators
Fog light bulb
Two (2) Front Turn signal bulb receptacle fried
Replaced front bumper due to a repainted used part
Bad paint on rear bumper skin that is a repainted used part - still in negotiation
Battery failed at 26k Miles
Throttle Body Boot
Mass Air Flow Sensor
By Pass Valves - replaced at my cost.
Two (2) valve cover gaskets
Two (2) cam cover gaskets
Two (2) Upper control arm ball joint pending
Broken rear view mirror swith by Valet at cheesy bar in Dallas.

Thanks for being a pioneer... my 3/01 build has been relatively reliable.

Same here - 2/01 build and it's been pretty darn free of problems.

Not very many, for needing ball joints.

Default ITrue - I think some of the early A6's had the same probelm. But then if there is a problem to have,

I will certainly have it
