S6 Engine Rattle...SOLVED!!
I am SO happy! The replacement of the left catalytic
converter ended the rattle at 1800 rpm. I test drove
my car today with the Service Tech and did my level
best to make it rattle...SEVERAL times...and there was
absolutely NO rattle. Now I can really enjoy the balance
of my break-in period and then on to more 'spirited'
driving. I hate it when this kinda stuff happens, but all's
well that ends well. When my brother's Ming Blue/Silver
S6 arrives we'll have a photo shoot with my Nemo Blue/
Ebony baby. Probably 2-3 weeks out. Thanks for the
moral support everyone.

It's such a relief when noises go. Treating rubber seals quieted my doors and sunroof, but now...
... the steering wheel creaks. Not loud, so I can probably wait until the next service (2500 mi).
I never would have guessed that the rubber seals were causing the noises I heard. So I keep reposting this, in case others might want to check it out:

Re: Rattle.... can you describe more clearly~
The rattle sounded like lifters in a '67 Pontiac which
were out of adjustment...."CLACK-ityclackITYCLICKITY
clackityclicKITYCLACKIty". It sort of strobed up and
down in volume filling up and down as you pass through
and come back down through 1800 rpm. Whatever was
loose in the cat pulsed at that frequency/pressure.
Which, annoyingly, is an rpm range you hit all the time.
Another way to describe it is like a little old lady knitting
with enormous steel knitting needles.
