Scott - Which kit/system is that?
Funny this thread came up. I just got turned on to that link as well from another source. I'm looking to do something (anything!) to cure my "pad deposits" which result in my braking vibe problems. At 30K miles I'm on my third set of OEM rotors (apparently with harder pads this time) and its back 7K miles later.....
This is getting annoying!

Speaking of courtroom drama
I heard on the telly this morning that Robert Blake wants to be released from jail before the trial starts. Not for the usual reasons, but because he wants to get a facelift first!
And apparently this would be his third. I guess he figures he's in line for his own Osbournes-like TV series once the trial is over.

In our case, it really is warping. Here's why, and how to avoid it....
And it gets worse when heated, both temporarily and a lasting effect. I've written a lot about this here before
I've had two complete replacements of rotors and pads in my first 15k miles, including rears, due to this problem.
One of the symptoms is that the brakes shudder for a few minutes after I get off a freeway and sit at the signal with my foot on the brakes. This symptom coming and going can only be due to warped rotors.
Also, even when cool, they still had a surging effect when rolling to a stop, once per rotation. There was a random variation in this effect from stop to stop due to the relative phase of the front wheels. The rears were a relatively minor issue, but noticeable after replacing the fronts.
The A6 brakes (at least the 4.2 rotors) were known to have a warping problem. Say its solved now.
The last time they were replaced, I broke them in according to StopTech's article (ironically, on how warpage is usually a misdiagnosis).... ten brakings from 60-5 mph of increasing intensity, without stopping in between. This is to uniformly heat the rotors, using increasingly high temperature cycles, so as to stress relieve the rotors.
Then, I religiously avoid sitting with my foot on the brakes when they are hot... instead, I either creep, or put it in N or Park. I even avoid sitting still with my foot off the brakes if they are very hot, since the pads hovering over the rotor may cause a hot spot. The idea is to make sure any heat is uniform, rather than hot spots which can cause warping.
The result is smooooth-as-butter braking, for the first time since the car was new.

Never use emergency brake when parking with hot brakes. See my message below for more...
Also, never wash the wheels with hot brakes.
Your fronts are also probably warped.
