New Audi owner
I just bought myself a 99 A6Q, my first Audi, and I am in love! I have to put some rims on her though, and I was wondering if anyone could give me a little insight. I don't really want to lower it, but for those of you who have, how is the ride quality? Can I get away with 18" rims without dropping the ride height, or does it look stupid? I am thinking that 17" rims with 45 rubber would be ok, but I kinda want to go bigger, any help would be greatly appreciated, and pictures even more so. Also, I have wood trim on the interior now, I would like to change it over to aluminum, is this possible? Thanks in advance, this looks like a killa board!

As for your wood question
You can take them out of the car and paint them silver with a clear coat and it will look really nice. Someone have done it but I can't remember who. The only thing I remember is that it was kind of cheap and beautiful with a black interior. I hope this help, and congrats for your new car.

I did the same thing 17" w/ 45 rubber. You'll love it!
I did not go 18" for fear of rubbing and I did not lower for the same reason, Im in Chicago. Dont get rid of the wood! I hear Audi owns their own forest in Scotland or their is always Carbon Fiber.

check these out...
oettinger REs from coloradowheel.com
great wheel (get many compliments)
gives car a very aggressive stance
Ben at coloradowheel is great to work with and offers some of the best prices on wheel/tire combo.
you could go with either 235 or 245 with this 17 X 8 wheel

Take a look at these web sites-->
http://www.edgeracing.com/
http://www.ronalusa.com/home.html
http://www.tirerack.com/index.jsp
http://www.coloradowheel.com/
Going from 17" to 18" is for cosmetic reasons only there is no performance advantage from what I have read. 18" more easily damaged by potholes etc.
Plus there are many others, but these seem to have the best reputation knowing what fits our cars. Good Luck!!

Re: As for your wood question
thanks a lot, ya'll have some nice rides, I got some work to do! I'm not worried about the rims getting damaged, I just don't want the car to look like a 4x4... So I gues ride quality with the 17's is ok?

no need for spacers - direct fit
this was a requirement for me, as I swap the wheels with winter wheels each year and did not want to mess with spacers, etc.
