The latest Maytag models have an LCD touchscreen instead of regular controls. And there are Help and Stain modes, where you can pull up this same type of info on how to handle all kinds of stains.

Pretty spooky. I guess next they'll add an internet and gaming hookup!

everyone against it, "as it will wear badly and stain easily". I'm not sure what to think, as now I kinda wish I had the Alcantara?

it is also called "Escaine" in Lexus-speak...it has done well in Porsche's for a few years now, also. It is polyester...a pretty damn durable fabric...it is also very similar to "ultrasuede" a fabric used to make sport jackets...wears and cleans well.
