Tirerack doesn't have Toyo, it seems. How can I find out more about them?

Default Hmmm. A number of racer's sites. They use them in the Speedvision Cup

The main complaint was that they weren't R compound ( duh ! ). For sheer grip, they are great and they don't start to fade when pushed hard for a long time. Rain capabilities are about the same between the two. Noice levels about the same. Ride slightly better in the Toyo because the compound is grippier, but the sidewall slightly softer. SO3 more prone to tramlining, although a tick faster turn-in. Once commited to the turn though, both Toyo and SO3 will feel similar until pushed to the limit. The Toyo has a little more feedback at that point, which seems odd, given the softer sidewall.

I'll ask Nizam to give me some links he found. Right now we have SO3s, Toyos and Michelin Pilot MXX3s. All our cars have the same bolt pattern, so we get to try out the tires on 3 different cars.

Default Hmmm. That reminds me of a comment by Jonathan of Donutz...

IIRC, he recommended S-02s over S-03s. I'm not positive, but I think his reasoning was the lack of feedback at breakaway, but I may be mistaken.

Is this likely to be a problem on the 03s for an aggressive A6 driver? Iike to hear/feel something prior to the guard rail!

Default It does sing a little at the limit. Around town, very little difference between the two.

When pushed hard - especially repeatedly - the Toyos come into their own. Much more informative contact patch.
