That's 9 spokes and it will be standard on all S6's as from April

Do you know the weight? I wonder if that is the reason for changing them on the S6.

Could also be that they're 18" rather than 17".

Default I like your wheels better, they're machined instead of painted?

What are they and will they fit the '02 A6 Avant? I was looking at the AT Italia S5's until I saw they were soft cast. The S5's are available machined but only in the 18 incher.

For now I'm trying to find a lightweight machined 17 incher for the summer set-up. Thanks.

Default Go here...

In looking at the At Italia S5 wheels (17") I ran a search at Google and came up with this UK/Audi controversy. This has probably all been hashed out around here, not sure. But the other link is to a page that lists weights and other data for different wheels. Look under AT Italia S5 and see what it says - soft (cast):

http://home.earthlink.net/~cvlocas/wheels.html

My understanding in all this is that spun/machined aluminum is much stronger than cast or soft cast. And no I don't really know what soft cast means except that it looks like Audi has used soft cast wheels on the RS4 so that their hybrid aluminum suspension parts will not fail under duress.

RS4 Wheel Saga
