Follow-up on MIL on with "lean" codes. FYI - Richard Solomon.
I had an intermittent MIL for over a week and found it to be:
17536 - Fuel Trim, Bank 1 Mult, System too Lean
17538 - Fuel Trim, Bank 2 Mult, System too Lean
on the Vag-Com.
This, according to some on here, and the repair manual, is usually the Mass Airflow Sensor (MAF) and in this case, it was. It was replaced and as Richard points out in a post - "#1 reason to fix MAF is MORE POWER (see link)!".
Power has returned with a vengence. I've been low on power for quite a long time, as much as a year or more possibly. Drove it on the highway for the first time since it was replaced, this morning, and I honestly don't remember having this much power at any time. I am glad the traffic is nill at 5:00am here.
I must mention what a pleasant visit it was at McDonald Audi here in Littleton. Tyler Fitzpatrick who usually takes care of me, had it done exactly on time, walked the paperwork to me while we were discussing a new A4 for my wife with one of the managers. When we went to pick it up, it was parked at the front door to the showroom. I really enjoyed this visit for the obvious reason (power!) and this kind of courtesy certainly will seal a deal on the A4 (that'll be $20.00 Tyler!) :-).

https://forums.audiworld.com/a6/msgs/75175.phtml</a
