A6 2.7 Vibration - Fixed!!
Just thought I would update everyone who cares. The persistant vibration of my 2002 A6 has been fixed. My dealer in Cleveland OH has been great. Fred Baker Audi....Alright I kept you in suspense long enough. The problem was the drive shaft. Dealer diagnosed by flipping the shaft 180 degrees. That mad it real real bad. So they got a new one from Germany and now it is fixed. See other threads if you want to see the history.

Fred Baker has an excellent service department
Had my '01 2.7T into the dealer I purchased from (Sandusky Motors) 2 times for braking vibration, passenger seat rattle, and misc. other small problems. Messed with backing plates for brake vibration (no clue what lead them to that) which didn't do anything but make my brakes squeek, ordered some bracket for the seat which after 1 month they still have not called to say if it is in. Finally got fed up and took the car to Fred Baker and they fixed my braking vibration (4 new rotors, all were warped), tightened mounting brackets for passenger seat and replaced internal lumbar pump motor which was also vibrating. In addition they programmed my remote to lower and raise the windows (Sandusky Motors said that they did not have any idea how to do that) and they had the car ready by 5pm that day. I kind of forgot how nice my car really is until that annoying seat rattling was fixed and the braking vibration at highway speeds. To anyone in the Cleveland area, I would highly recommend them for service.

Its nice to know you are not crazy . . .
and not chasing the golden buddha of answers:
"its your wheels, its your tires, its your wheels and tires"
That dealer should receive some sort of acknowledgement. Make sure you take the time to send a letter to AoA expressing how positive it was working with this dealer. These things are important for the dealer staff. They deserve to get the kudo's as much as the rasberries.
Many dealer service departments are trying very hard to meet high expectations. Its nice for them to have that effort rewarded.
