Ok, crazy check time: Who else can't wait to get their summer wheels/tires back on?

Just spent the weekend on the track with S03s. Comparo to Toyo T1S
I've had the Toyos over this winter and have found them to be quite decent in the rain, reasonably quiet, and very confidence inspiring when pushed, with minimal fade.
We threw the fresh S03s on the car 10 minutes before leaving from San Jose to Willow Springs near Lancaster ( we had been up until 2:30am the night before, putting the suspension back together ). It was hard to seperate what the new, shocks, bushings and tires were doing while driving down. There was a little more tire roar that the Toyos. Being new, the S03s were like slippery marbles to start. The 275 mile journey helped a lot. Saturday morning track session still felt a little wooden, but improving. As the weekend progressed, grip became better and better. The initial bite on turn-in is not as sharp as the Toyos, but once set, they hang on pretty well. Breakaway was very smooth - I can see why Porsche guys like the tire for this. Wet skidpad was decent with good feedback. They are noisier on the street, but a tad more quiet on the track than the Toyos. Chunking was very limited.
In conclusion, the Toyos are still a nicer all around street / light competition duty tire. The S03s are less expensive, and in the end, you do get what you pay for - although is a close call.

Yeah I hear you. The winter has sucked so bad on the East Coast that I can't even go to my crappy
*** mountain in between big trips up North and out West. I've basically lost my desire to ski
; ( I can't wait for the summer to get back into mountain biking though...
