Default Christmas day drive: retraced much of our recent Bay Area A6 caravan...

This time, just Sheira and I. We drove up Page Mill to Alpine to Skyline. Just a few bicycles and cars. Nice, aggressive uphill (safer than downhill) driving.

But, we crossed Skyline, continuing on Alpine. Man, this road is narr-row! Lots of potholes (mostly filled) and great panoramas. Many spots where it narrows to one lane, and others with two about the size of a bike path.

Eventually, after great vistas, it joined Pescadero Creek Road, and now we were following the route of the A6 event (see links below). Wetter, more potholes, so a bit slower. After a beautiful drive, we reached Pescadero town, which was thoroughly closed.

As before, we turned right on Stage Road, where the infamous if not incriminating video was taken (even my brother who now lives in Scottsdale knows of this road!). We took it fast, and my wife was feeling a bit queasy (sleepy is not the way to enjoy this road). It wsa deserted, exept for one cottontail rabbit that my wife spotted.

We stopped at the General Store & Bar at the end of the road, which was open, for a drink and a rest. Then up 84 past Applejacks (also open) to Skyline, where we saw a coyote crossing the road.

We went south on Skyline, noting the thick "smog" sitting on the valley and bay (fog plus hearth fires, we supposed) to hwy 9, took a left down into the valley, and a left on Pierce road to surface streets.

So, who is picking the NEXT drive route?

Default Um you guys have too much fun up there. How about coming down here and I'll show you Galveston?!?!?!

Man I wish i could be there, the drives around here suck. Austin has a bunch of places for spirited driving but getting to Austin is a pain in the *** because there is so much traffic there.

When God created Houston, he looked up and drew a straight line. That's how flat this city is.

Plus, I think Nemo is the ****. If it looks that good in the pic, wonder what it looks like in person. Still have yet to see one.
