Default Upgraded my 4.2 with Stoptech brakes.

. The car stops quicker 60-0 .
(10 consecutive runs, increasing temp)
stock audi 112'-113'
with stoptech 107-108
80-0 7 or 8 consecutive runs( able to pull 60-0 data from these runs as well)
stock audi best 204'
stoptech best 197'
the stoptech system maintained a relatively lower temp thru out the test.
ie. 5th run temps stock , against stoptech 5th run temps

stoptech testing was done with Axxis Ultra pads out of the box

I am going to use Pagid blue-orange for street and track

J TURN is a test to check brake bias (front to rear) came up with similar results stock to stoptech, this is important because it insures that the braking charactaristics in the turns and on the straight line is not changed drastically from stock audi. Basically meaning it will feel the same when braking, or close enough. They could tweak this a little but the kit they came with worked just fine.

ABS disabled test, car reacted the same with stock or stoptech

Overall brake feel is much better, there is no more spongeiness, much more deliberate feel, less pedal input. No fade after repeated stops. I'll take me a few miles to get confident with this setup but at this point I am completely satified with the results.
This system is about 6 lbs lighter per corner than my stock Audi set up. Put that with my 11 lbs less per wheel for track tires and I should feel what unsprung weight is all about.
I will have some track time on this system on Monday with the Pagid orange so I'll get some high temperature feedback. Cant wait , I'll post folowup, remember I have toasted 2 complete sets of pads and rotors during school events.

Disclaimers, this is my opinion, dont do this at home, dont chew with your mouth open, dont expect Audi to warranty aftermarket brakes.

Does the upgrade include brake lines?

Default front brake lines are in kit, extra for rear lines ~$100. You may also use Porsche wear sensors

and have them modified to work with stock sensors, at least with the Stoptech upgrade 2.7T you can. Drkangel has done this.

Default Oh, one more very interesting point. I showed up for the test

with the tires that I had basically destroyed last time I was at Willow Springs. Cupped and blowing chunks from turn 8.I needed new tires but wanted to wait till after the test. Anyhow we start the test and the first 60-0 stop was 128',still stock audi system. Several more tests at around 128'. The car was really squirrely under braking, ABS trying to compensate I think.
So the test cant go on with these lousy tires so I go get the tires mounted which I had waiting for me.
OK the first 60-0 run on the new tires is 112'. stock audi.
So if your thinking of keeping those old tires another season, dont.
This was the most significant stopping distance change all day. :-)

Default Pagid caution w/Stoptechs

I used the Pagid blues on the track, and managed to glaze my rotors with them. (Stopttechs). The next event I switched to the pagid orange, but the rotor damage was done...by the end of the day, the front end was thrashing like an epileptic marlin. Once I replaced the front rotors and deglazed the orange pads - all was well. My next track event was great (w/orange pads) - they really bite very well and resist fade - significant different over stock, and over the Axxis ultimates (my normal street pad)...

Default Thanks DLOW . I am prepared to put on and take off the Orange at the track.

They warned me not to overheat the blue. So blues are OK for street?
