Brake options...
The only thing kinda' lame-o on the new S6 is the girlie-man brakes...especially the Hyundai-esque rear brakes...
What are some options out there for awesome brakes that also look good...eg. Brembo, etc.
How much????
The 4.2 might also need a brake upgrade in the future...
I want big and beefy...amazing stopping power but looking good doing it...any ideas???
Thanks

I believe Stoptech is working on a setup for the 4.2/S6
Bigger Calipers and Rotors but I think its a front only upgrade so it will not add any testosterone to the rear caliper view. I believe Brian4.2 may be working with them on the setup so we should have the beta test report pretty soon. FWIW I'm still a little disappointed with the S6 pedal travel, but I'm only 600 miles in.
Hey aren't you supposed to be eating turkey? Fortunately for me, the laptop has a wireless modem so I can take it to the table.....

Re: Brake options...(insert shameless plug here)
Your existing 4.2 brakes will do 6 60MPH to 0 stops with no problem. They are adequate for the task. The problem is when you do more than this repeatedly without time for the brake components to cool down. Or if you make repeated hard slowdowns from higher speeds.
The first step would be to switch to a higher temp pad, this will buy you a few more repeated stops or same number at higher speeds before fade.
A better set of brakes will not neccesarily stop quicker but just higher speeds or more repeated stops without fade. IMHO the 4.2 brakes are very good for all street applications including extreemly agressive driving. I chased the Norcal S4 guys up Mt. Diablo this year and gave my stock brakes a workout. They did perform well all day. It is track events that often require more,(or more often) stopping power.
A typical track lap will have you slowing from 110 to 80 or 80 to 40, 9 or 10 times in less than 2 minutes. 10 -15 laps in a half hour and you see why you would upgrade brakes.
My reason for going with Stoptech is that they were interested in in developing a Kit for the 4.2 specifically. There is no question that you could get some huge Porche calipers , some A8 rotors, brackets from somewhere else and cobble together some kind of system, but not being a brake engineer this idea scares me.
Stoptech will soon have a fitment for the 4.2 at around 2,000 for the kit.Included are good street pads for agressive driving. Add for track pads and SS lines.
Although they look wimpy the rears will handle a front brake upgrade with changing to a higher temp pad.
If you want real big you have to go to 18" wheels and go to a 355mm rotors and some mondo calipers, your talking some huge dollars.
Oh and this is only my opinion, dont try this at home, dont chew with your mouth open, this will absolutely void your brake warranty.(but who cares ,your stock brakes will be in a box till you sell the car)

Yep Gerry, mine too still kinda mushy after 600mi, but
since I'll never track it, then the brake upgrade is off my "inner-city" mods list for now. I plan on living with it the way it is. I think we're just spoiled is all.
