Extracting oil with vacuum pump.
Last weekend I have bough a oil pump to suck oil out from the engine though a thin hose inserted into the dipstick tube. Audi has pretty thin dipstick tube so I had to get 1/4" OD hose. As result the oil was moving very slow. It took me about an hour to suck all 7L of oil. And I had to warm the oil up so it is less viscosous.
On the positive side, the oil change become effortless, clean and I did not have to take off the underbelly.
I will use this same approach is the future. probably will use a copper pipe instead of plastic hose to maximize ID for the limited OD.

I've been changing the oil on my '06 A6 Avant using a Mityvac Fluid Evacuator for the last several years w/o any problems. I use the small OD plastic tube that came with the unit, and fits very well into the dipstick tube. To pull out the ~7 qts of oil takes ~30 minutes or so, which allows me time to R&R the oil filter/seals.

4Driver4 it removes more oil than draining it , the hose reaches to the bottom of the pan, and I guess with draining it you have to account for a little "lip" for the plug threads which might leave a few ounces behind. I Have not tried it myself, but I did a lot of reading on it before I bought my Mityvac. It's clean , easy and it only takes about 30 minutes.

The only way to get the last bit of oil from the drain pan (when using the drain plug) would be to tip the car on its side
This is my Harbor Fright unit. I set it up and walk away. You can see (and hear) on the gage when you've sucked the pan dry. It's compressor-driven:

I've used an oil extractor for 15 plus years and with zero issues. Drove my last B5 Avant for 13 plus years (1.8T) and zero sludge issues, same with my wife's now 12 year old BMW 330.
I feel you get the same to more oil pulled using the oil extractor and don't have to mess with the belly pan or jacking the car up.

I thought of going with an extractor setup, but then decided to let gravity do the work for me instead. I cut a small patch in the belly pan and put a piano hinge on it and a very VERY strong magnet. Then I installed a Qwik Valve.
It takes less than 5 minutes for me to do an entire oil change Here's a pic of what I did with the belly pan https://www.audiworld.com/forums/sho...1&postcount=45

Do you need to jack the car up to collect the oil Raj? What I like about the evacuator is that you can do it in a suit. No mess at all, when I put a pan under the car I always spill some. That valve would make me a bit paranoid though... driving over the potholes we have leftover from last winter is a little spring going to hold? You would loose all the oil before you knew what happened. I like your piano hinge idea but I don't think I would have the ***** to put a flusher valve like that lol
