Hi everybody,

I bought a 2008 A6 3.2q s-line about 6 months ago. so far everything is good. however i have 2 questions.

1- my old car was a 2007 a3 and my navigation on that car was able to say exit numbers and street names but with my new car's navi it only says the route numbers and that's it. i am wondering if my navi is not up to date or is that how it works on a6s navigations?

2- i want to close my windows from my remote but i need to set that up with a vag-com i believe. i am wondering if someone who lives in North Jersey (North Bergen) can help me out with that?

I have an 2010 A6 here in the UK and if you can set the windows to open/close from the key in the MMI.

Go to CAR and then select Windows and set all to "On". It is slightly confusing as the display refers to "Convenience Open" but it works for close too.

Can't say about the Nav as I have the latest version (still DVD and not the full 3G one) but the disk will determine what instructions are given.

The DVD unit for the Nav is behind the panel in the left side of the trunk. Simply eject the DVD and see what version is written on the disc. The current Nav version is Version 9. Version 10 will probably be released in the next month or two since Version 9 was released in May of 2008 and they seem to issue new releases about every 12-14 months.

we dont at least i dont have that function on my MMI screen. i guess, i really need to do that via vagcom.

i just checked this morning. my navi dvd is 2008-2009 version, so that i assume this is the latest right now? is it?

welcome, I too traded my A3 for an A6 3.2 ......

yes, you will need to use the VAG to enable the window function - you cannot do it with the MMI. I have good friends at my local dealer and they did it for me.......although I wasn't supposed to tell anyone.....OOOPPPS (actually he said I just have to let them set it back to NA standards if I ever decide to sell it)

you have the latest version - I dont know when a new one will come out.

I did not have oem NAV in my A3, I had a tom tom, and IMHO it is tons better than the one in the A6, so I use my Tom Tom for navigation when traveling.

no complaints really, the funtionality of MMI is so much better than the set-up in the A3........... so I am happy

One of the member from this forum helped me out regarding to VAG-COM.

I really thank to him and of course to the forum that offers/provides such good connections here for our favor...

after we met with the member, we connected the pc to my car and finally i dont have the seat belt warning sound, my voice command is activated and the most important thing, i can close my windows from my remote key...
