Default Top-off oil

Min oil warning came on yesterday, service not due for another 800+ miles. I remember a while ago I heard audi dealership will top-off the oil (add a quart) for free if you stop by and ask for it. Is this true?

Had similar issue with mine yesterday for the first time. Went to autozone, picked up one quart of castrol 5w-40. All good so far.

If it is just another 800 miles for next oil change, it makes more sense to change oil instead of topping off. That's what 99% of dealers will do.

Just had that happen to me last week.

Dropped by my dealer and was topped up by one of the mechanics.

No charge.
