Hey Gang,

An alarm comes up on my dash sporadically, and says that my LEFT Rear Light is out, my LEFT Rear Fog light is out and my LEFT Rear Reverse light is out… With everything going out on the Rear Left – could that be a loose wire or something with my fuses?

I doubt (3) Left, Rear lights would all go out at the exact same time. Also given the fact that the alarm is sporadic makes me think the bulbs are fine.

Thoughts?

It is probably a bad ground in that light unit. I had that happen to me once. I removed the light module, took out all of the bulbs put them back in and it has been fine ever since (about 6 months ago). I understand that sometimes the ground will fail completely in which case you need to replace the light, or get creative with a soldering iron.

I had the exact same problem. They had to replace the tail light assembly. Not the entire assembly i think the computer inside the taillight or something. If you need more detail let me know i can dig up there service record. But don't fret it was a rather affordable fix. I think it was $250 or somewhere around there, tho surpssingly it wasn't covered under CPO since it was a tail lamp or as my dealer quoted "light bulb and related items are not covered as they are considered where items"

UPDATE: Had my A6 at the Audi dealership today. It turns out that the connector which all (3) rear, left lamps connect through was corroded. They explained to me that its the connection that is found directly behind the entire rear light assembly.

They replaced the part in about 30 minutes. They didn't charge me cause I still had my 30 day / 1000 mile warranty.
