My 2008 A6 quattro has just passed 142,000 miles and was running well until last Thursday, then it started idling rough and sounding like one of the cylinders was missfiring. I had it scanned today and these are the codes. The main one I think is for a timing sensor. The part is 15 years old. I want to replace it with aNew sensor. My question is do I need to buy a new sensor for each cylinder or doe one sensor do the entire car? Also, can you please tell me the part number for the sensor?
