Seat backs are detached 2011 A6 Avant
Both of my front seat hard plastic seat back panels with nets have fallen off. My dealer wants a ransom because they want to replace both seats entirely rather than repair them. In more than 60 years I have never owned a car that lost even one, much less two seat back panels! This is my pleasure car, has only 68,000 miles and has been problem-free. Other than the seat back panels it could pass for new.
I'm tempted to use a heavy duty adhesive to glue the panels back in place, but also considering taking it to an automobile upholstery shop and let them deal with it.
Has anyone else experienced this issue? Recommendations?

This has happened to a few of us here. A quick search and you'll get your answers.
For me, I just used some industrial silicone (used to glue stainless steel panels on elevators walls) I put a thick bead around the parameter then taped it in place for 24 hrs. Been holding for about 5 yrs now,

Thanks for that information. I had bought a tube of DAP Dynagrip HD polyurethane adhesive that will probably work, but perhaps the silicon is more appropriate. I did a search and found nothing, I might have used the wrong search parameters.
Hah! I should've just googled it!

This ionly happens on the C6 avant with regular seats. I have second C6 avant with premium seats. None of this happened there.

I think the problem happens because driver can push back his back hard enough so it presses against the back cover of the seat. I have tried different adhesives, but they all fail.

At any rate, the DAP Dynagrip HD polyurethane adhesive appears to have worked.
