My brake pad wear light turned on last night as well.
Anyone tried the Ceramic brake pads from Tirerack? It looks like there are ceramic brake pads available for our S6's.

Default My A6 is lasting a lot longer than the S8. no indicator yet, but they

say at about 40k i will need to replace rotors and pads in the front. audi says I will have to do both. I dont think the rotors are ready yet. cost is about 750.

Any other S6 owners out there that have changed their pads already due to wear already? At what mileage?

Thanks in advance.

I believe the dealer charges around $900 for the front pads and rotors.

I dropped by Griffin Motorwerke in Berkeley, CA last week. Terry Griffin (owner) told me about some brake pads (front and rear) by Stoptech that are low dust, no noise, and perform as well or better than the stock brake pads. They are likely less expensive than the stock pads as well. I will go this route when I get around to it in the next 4-6 weeks.

Feel free to give Terry a call, or look up a local Stoptech dealer in your neighborhood to check them out.

yup, I called an Audi dealer last night and they said they only do pads and rotors (cant only do pads). They said it would 925 dollars.

I am planning to just change my pads since the rotors seems fine at 32k.

How does sunset compare to shopping on audiporschevwparts.com and picking up the stuff from Rector in Burlingame? Thats what I did for my front rotors (aftermarket pads)

Recommend calling a Stoptech vendor near you or call Griffin Motorwerke.
