S6 5.2V10 engine problem twitching
#31
dealer called they said that there is no leak in cylinder and compression is ok in all cylinders. they said that injector should be changed for cylinder 8 which cost $700
if there is injector fault shouldn't problem be permanent or it's still possible that sometimes car run fine sometimes no.

$700? That's insane, hell the other 7 cylinders have used injectors on them. The engine wash may have corroded the connection on the injector, that's not too tough to check. You can always pull the entire fuel rail and crank the engine and watch the spray pattern from the injectors. Just don't smoke while you're doing it.

I would check all the connections related to the ignition or fuel system, a mechanic washed my V8 Quattro engine years ago during a timing belt change. Moisture in the crank position sensor connector preventing the engine from revving above 3500.......

yeah I told them to check connections and told that engine was washed not sure how carefully they checked it but they said all is fine and injector need to change. I don't know now what to do. Today drived car it showed misfire cylinder 8 cylinder 6 and random misfire. I cleared these fault codes went for test drive immediately again and now it was running fine. Except I had a feeling now that power is lost a little bit it felt like it could be 6 or more seconds 0-100Km/h there was compression test done leakage test and all seems fine. Could it be also ECU problem? what is strange that when pending misfire codes are cleared then car run fine although now not sure about true performance feeling that some horses are lost ...

today I tested car and seems power is lost 0-100 6.5s should be 5.3 no misfire codes at that moment no low fuel pressure codes, no jerking just lost power. Seems that all happened after low fuel pressure sensor change - which was new. I'm lost but can't explain it other way because some days before sensor change it was running 0-100 5.4s immediately after sensor change it was 6.5 then I thought there are some more problems then after big repair in audi dealer there were no low fuel pressure errors but now when I test drive car then still from 0-100 it run 6.5s even though no jerking now. How that could be? Compression is ok. No leaks in cylinders.

I just run torque live test and it reported some values which maybe are cause of these problems. O2 bank 1 sensor 2 voltage 0,679 range 0.5-0.001 not running
running O2 bank 1 sensor 2 65520 range 22600-24575
secondary air monitor 1 and 2 - dependent test failed or incomplete
what do you think can this cause all problems with lost power jerking misfires etc?
when audi dealer did diagnostic shouldn't they also measure all these sensor data? Seems in my case they just looked up trouble codes and measured fuel pressure and charged $70 for diagnostic !!!

i got VCDS soft and and in readiness it says that catalytic converter incomplete or failed so maybe catalytic converter I need to change and that is reason for lost power. Also I have feeling that if car running longer in idle and then I drive again then performance is lost even more. Seems it's best running when it's just warmed up.

Still following this thread. Did you ever fix problem? I have the same issue it seems. Runs fine under normal operation, but when I step on the gas I get this vibration and it sounds like a WRX.
I have already done new coil packs, new plugs, carbon clean and have installed JHM intake spacers.
I'm at a loss. I am throwing a Cyl 5 misfire and random cyl misfire, also a System too lean bank 2 code
Anyone?

6.5s to 100km/h is very bad for that car...
I sold it as it was, so god know what the problem was, buyer tested in city center could not go too fast
I suspect something with catalytic converter I believe it was full, and it caused lot of resistance for engine...
