Default Reverse Parking Buzzer / Horn for Park Distance Control (PDC) is failing/failed

Just thought I would post some information about the PDC. I need to test mine to ensure it is operating correctly, and I am going to attempt to rebuild what might be wrong. Not sure how expensive the part is, but I am thinking at least 80$. I right now I could certainly use 80$ in my pocket rather than in this stupid buzzer.

So, here is the diagram for the module, and how you can access it to pull it out. I will update the thread tonight when I check to make sure the right amps are going into the unit with my multi-meter.

I am certainly open to any tips though?
Also the part numbers for this are sometimes reffered too as: 8E0-919-279

And I found that it can also be referred to as: 4B0 919 279

Default Speaker problem or sensor problem?

I don't really understand your problem. Are you having a problem with the speaker inside your vehicle? Or are you having a problem with the parking sensor in the bumper?

I have replaced one speaker inside the car because the speaker was blown.

Default It is located under the rear hat shelf, PITA to access it...

...at least that is where it is located in the C5. Of course, Audi did not provide any way to access the parktronic speaker from underneath, that would be too logical!

Default I am having a problem with the 'buzzer' / speaker.

If you have any advice on where that is on the rear deck or how you accessed it, I was unable to find it even after removing the entire rear deck and all the sound proofing material down to the bare metal. So it's not in the rear deck, it must be tucked inside that rear quarter panel or C-pillar?

Any tips would be more than welcome!
Thanks

Default I did not locate the C6's under the rear hat shelf. I removed it entirely and got nothing

I am hoping Flem.audi can point me in the right direction for the exact location of this buzzer. it would seem easy and 'right there' but everything I remove reveals nothing.

Default Directions

Its a bitch, no easy way to put it.

You need to remove the upper roof panel trim, both rear D-pillar trim pieces, the rear shelf, If you have fold down rear seats, you need to remove the side bollster on the drivers side, the c-pillar(drivers side) has screws holding it in, you need to work out plastic belt tensioner(drivers side) guide also. The speaker is behind the C-pillar(drivers side), it clips it.

Hope that helps.

Default Update so far

I have not repaired my buzzer. I hate ripping interior parts, I am very impatient with the contortionist moves required to safely remove tabs without the correct tools or experience of removing the same components in the past.

I am probably going to be bringing it to Autobahn performance for them to just remove the horn, and maybe re-locate it so it isn't in the C-pillar!

Other than that, no update. Except that this is a very difficult part to 'reach' in my opinion.

Wait so you think that the reason its not working is because of the speaker?

Mine beeps one time in the low pitch that it set it to when I put it into reverse and then immediately beeps again high pitched and then doesn't work or sense anything when I back up. But only time to time. I think its my sensor. I found them for about 79 each but I want to be sure thats it because it sometimes works.
