rear windows raise then immediately reverse...
2010 Avant, windows go all the way up or partially up then reverse. It is even very difficult to 'help' them up; so I would say its not a binding triggering the reversal. It takes pulling on the glass coupled with very very brief window switch activations to get the glass to get to the top and stay closed. Any thoughts on how to solve this condition ?

Sounds like the window regulator is getting full of gunk and binding internally. It's basically a thin wire around a drive spool that moves the window track up and down. Take it apart and give it a good cleaning, also when it's apart, look at the wire itself, it could be starting to fray and causing drag.
Make sure you make little marks on each clamping point for the window, so you can put it back in the same spot.

Silicone spray gets a bit messy but as others said above, it seems to work decently well. I have read that you can also try Gummi Pflege, or Shin Etsu(a Honda product) but have never tried them myself. I have noticed that the C6 window seals tend to start dragging on the window more quickly than the C5's do. I think the most important thing with any window track lubricant for these cars is that it is a silicone base that dries, you don't want anything staying sticky in there as it will attract dirt and result in quite an abrasive experience for the window glass over time.
