A Question from a New C6 Member
Satueday I purchased a 2008 Audi A6 3.2 quattro to replace my 1999 A6 2.8 quattro I totaled a few weeks back. The carfax shows the vehicle had been serviced at two Audi dealerships, one in New York and the other in Connecticut. .The car had two previous owners and was a CPO warranty vehicle when it was sold to the second owner. The csr had less than 53,400 miles when I bought it.
I was very happy to get 33 mpg on my drive home. One thing I noticed as I accelerate is a vibration in the steering wheel that feels like the front wheels are bent. This vibration stops when the car is at cruising speed. It just seems to happen during acceleration.
Any ideas on what's causing my vibration problem? I suspect it is a worn control arm (which one who knows) but it could it be due to a bad wheel bearing, too?
