Pic of my new Car
Finally I got picture of my A6 (A is for awesome!)
You might note that it is forced to live on Brooklyn street. So what can I do to protect the rear bumper? In particular I do not want to see the parking sensors to be mutilated by a moron the caw catcher on the front of his SUV. I do not want one of these "bumper mats" since they will cover sensors and look hideous. And I cannot use regular black strips because they do not match in color. Is there any clear or red strips I can put on the bumper or should I go with a sort of modified door mat attached to the back?

That's a beautiful geo prizm. Might want to drop it and get the door painted the same color as the rest of the car ;-)
Congrats, I would struggle sleeping at night leaving that beauty out on the street in Brooklyn.

I am at BayRidge as well. I just got HEX CAN VAG COM. so you are welcome to stop by if you need to reprogram something.
about pain of parking in Brooklyn: my old A6 had only two issues while parken on street. a yellow cab plowed into the rear during snow storm and morons on suv backed up and broke front grille by overhang spare tire. none was end of the world so I am sort of ok with it.

not sure what you can do to protect your car from the streets of Brooklyn, but if it's me I wouldn't park that close to the car behind me and **** them off and provoke behaviors such as ramming your rear bummer trying to get out of their spot.

I can see from the pic how the car behind him might bump him a few times to get out.

You can have a clear bra / PPF (paint protection film) applied to the rear bumper to help with the scratches. It won't stop the deep gouges from front license plate screws, but it will minimize the damage. Scratches and scuffs won't damage the paint. I have PPF on two of my cars specifically for this reason - 8 mil thick on the front bumpers, and 14 mil thick on the rear bumpers.
