phone setup
My car is basic with MMi and Cd player with SD card; OEM.
What additional hardware (OEM Audi) do I need to have my car with bluetooth handsfree and phone book?

I'd think you'd need the bluetooth control module at the very least. The real question is whether the wiring exists in your car to plug in this module. From what I've read, this module is somewhere below the drivers seat - but have someone confirm this for you.

Which socket will this module connect to? Like the conventional cd player addons connect at the rear player.
Is it same with the mmi + cd player setup?
What about storing phone books etc. , the bluetooth module sufficient?
I"ll look underneath the driver seat to confirm.

I heard there is a 'advanced bt module' sold by pols. it allows to route phone calls as well as listen to music and send phone book entries. it also most likely cheaper then OEM.
about phone book with OEM module: it can import entries from your sim card (not phone) over BT. the rest you will need to reenter with the wheel thingy.
finally, I have to express my disapointment with engeneers who put electronics on the floor. footwells in cars get fluded and it could damage all the electronics. you do need much - bunch of snow on boots or cloged plenum chamber drains. I left car during the NY blizard outside and got 1/2 of water in footwell. I remeber audi put ECU on the floor of C4, that was dumb idea.

Think my A6 does not have the module, can't find it underneath the driver seatings nor the passenger seats.
ever seen the gadgets sold by these guys www.kufatec.de , they are OEM i guess.
Any help on how the installation hook-ups gonna look like?
