Phone not installed after update to 5570

When it turns up, it should be a straight replacement and the 'red screens' and VCDS should show the correct info. If the firmware level is not 1130 you might want to update with CD2 of the Euro 3CD se4t.

That’s a good point. Once you’ve replaced the BT ECU, you should use VCDS to clear all the fault codes (aka DTCs) and run an Autoscan to get a full car report.
BTW, can you please remind us which update CDs you used to perform the update to 5570?

Hello, got the BT module today and build it in. Now I have no connection to the 77 telephone module at all.
I can't see the info (HW# and name and so on) in the red-screen-menu and also not with VCDS.
There are no errors at the Gateway as far as I can see. The partnumber of the new module is exactly the same as the old one 4E0862335.
What can I check (with VCDS) or do otherwise to possible make it work?
Thanks!

I also think it's definately broken. Did a bus check in VCDS, all are OK, except both optical and electrical for 77. Telephone.
Also no communication possible or response from the module.
With my old BT module they were all OK.
So I will try to send it back and arrange somewhere another ECU.

The seller said: You need recode it, contact with your mechanic.
Is that true, I don't know how to recode it? I can't into the 77 module settings in VCDS, because it doesn't connect to it.
Or is there another way to do it?

That’s nonsense! There’s a difference between a unit that can be seen by VCDS and the ‘current config’ screens but doesn’t work properly because the coding is incorrect and a unit that’s dead and won’t communicate.
You need VCDS or equivalent to communicate to change the coding - there’s no other way …
Her's a sample VCDS log for a working BT phone unit showing the CODING
And here's the definitions of the different values within:
C00,Telephone Preperation (R36) Coding
C01,00?0xx0: MMI System
C02,1 = MMI High
C03,2 = MMI Standard
C04,
C05,00x0?x0: Installation List
C06,9 = Vehicle with MOST-Databus
C07,
C08,00x0x?0: Voice Control Language
C09,0 = Voice Control OFF
C10,1 = German (Rest of World)
C11,2 = English (United Kingdom)
C12,3 = French (Rest of World)
C13,4 = Italian (Rest of World)
C14,5 = Spanish (Rest of World)
C15,6 = Spanish (USA)
C16,7 = English (USA)
C17,8 = French (Canada)
C18,9 = Speaker depend Voice Selection
Suggest you ask the seller how you can update the code if the car can't see the unit [as shown by current config screens].
Note: My sample showed the field as
