Default Parking brake failure...had to tow to dealer.

My car is an '05 A6 4.2 with 45k miles on it.
Car just run out of warranty as of Jan this year and problems are coming as if there was a timer to initiate dealer visits.

This morning, parking brake failed to disengage and I had to call Audi 24 hour assitance to have the car towed to my local dealer.

Funny thing is that whenever I tried to disengage the parking brakes, I could hear the parking brake motors run but kept getting an error message on the information screen and the parking brakes would not disengage. Kept trying for almost an hour, gave up, called 24 hour assistance, and when the tow truck came, it disengaged but still with the error message.

Had the card towed to the dealer cause I didn't want the car to freeze the wheels on my way to the dealer.

Dealer says that car might need a new computer module.

Any similar experiences with car having a timer?

Default gauge goes to 0. senders replaced once already, but it's a fuel pump design problem. issue didn't

come back until about 10k ago, but now i need to pay full boat for the redesigned pump and new senders, unless i can sweet talk AoA.

I'm ignoring it for now, as it's totally random and rare enough. I assume it'll get worse over time though.

Default in this economic, sweet talk to AoA doesn't work. I tried that for my Airbag light...

indeed, I just got their 2nd followup call today and regional manager said no so... look like it's either i'm paying 1400 and hope for a recall check or spend 560 and do it myself... This suck!

Default Re: Parking brake failure...had to tow to dealer.

I had this issue...bought an 05 at auction last fall, drove it home and stopped at my parents house. Set the parking brake...and while you can guess the rest. I was pretty pissed, since I had only put about 25 miles on it at that point.

The next morning (after having borrowed a car to get to work) I stopped by to check it out again, and the brake had released. When looking into it further, I saw that they had replaced the computer module for the parking brake (in the trunk under the tire changing tools). I reset the codes with VagCom and haven't used the parking brake since!

Other than than and having the brake need replacemnt (at 65k miles), no other problems (knock on wood) that I have needed to be services. The battery light has come on a few times in the cold weather (maybe need a new one) and the warning light for the passenger driving light comes on intermittently...

weird that it's a chronic sending unit problem with the C5 A6 and the TT. Techron made it better

Default Excuse my A6-noobness, but you have motors to control the parking brake?

Talk about something being over-engineered.

I must say it's quite nice, especially for the lady. However, the noise is just annoying.
