Overhead interior lights

Overhead interior lights
I have a new 2006 A6. I want to disable a couple of the front overhead light bulbs or at least replace them with something less bright. Anyone know how I can get to them?

Re: Overhead interior lights
I replaced mine with blue LEDs.
IIRC, at the back of the surround there is a slight notch between the chrome surround and the inside plastic. A small screwdriver in there and a twist will drop the whole surround out.
The reading lights are easy to replace, but the door lights are a pig. They are horizontal and there is little room around them to get a good grip and turn the bulb. You need small fingers.

How do you like the blue LED's? Where did you get them and do you remember their wattage, etc. Also, did you replace the back seat bulbs as well? Thanks.

Sorry for delay, been away...
so if you're still interested :
I love the blue lights. Got them off ebay.
I replaced the front, rear and footwell lights, although the footwell ones are a little hard to see.
Just got equivalent replacements, all 5 watt IIRC. I was concerned that the lower voltage would trigger some bulb warning, but it doesn't.
