Maybe the model proliferation is why they are having reliability problems?

actually the new AMG's have many problems. Our 1 month old(1700 miles) ML63 AMG has been at the dealership for 2 weeks now because of an throttle acentuator problem. My S6 has had 10,000 trouble free miles since september however...

yes, you are. The engine is sick, but other than that I would stay away from all MB products right now. I am getting rid of it as soon as it is fixed..

Default That's too bad...

We have an 05' SL55 AMG and its been flawless so far, we also just got an 07' ML and no issues at all. Overall, I've heard of many issues with MB but it seems all of the luxury German makes have issues.

I looked at the ML63 AMG very closely but instead got an S6 and an ML350....worked out for the better.

Default My '02 ML500 is fine - some minor issues which were fixed.

I must say that the drive train is more solid feeling than that of my '01 A6. And the brakes are by fare better on the ML500. Fit and finish on the ML500 sucks when compared to the A6.

Well I have both a '07 S6 and a '07 ML63 AMG and I definately wish I hadn't got the AMG. Sure its great when its working, but has had many problems in just 1 month. I have had 4 previous Audi's,('01 allroad 2.7T,'01 A6 2.7T, '03 A6 2.7T, '05 A6 4.2 s-line) and had very little problems. My S6 is approaching 10,000 miles with no(knock on wood) problems. I wish Audi would send the S6 Avant to the US. My wife and I would much prefer that to any MB product. Maybe its just first year model hiccups, but I suspect otherwise and MB's reliabilty rankings just confirm my suspicions.

Default I agree that the S6 is a solid and very improved version.

Apart from the navigation and the phone link there is nothing I can think of which needs improvement.
