Oil leak, need help diagnosing
Just got this car less than a month ago, after wiping down the gunk in this area there is slight moisture after 2 days or so. It's right in the area where the pen is pointing to. My question is: what gasket is this (head?) I don't think it's the valve cover gasket as it's below that and anyone have a rough estimate on cost to repair. It is the 3.2L FSI. Thanks

Theres no gasket there its high temp silicone sealer. On these the cylinder head has a top cover which is what that is and it also holds the cams down and houses the cam bearings all in one. Volvos are also like this as well as VW/Audi 2.0T engines. You must unbolt and rebolt it very evenly and slowly or it can break or crack it from stress from the valve springs.

Yes I did repaired the oil leak.
There was oil leak under head gasket.
Audi dealer asked $5000 to repair it.
I did it for the price of parts.

It seems to me that you have the same problem.
Good luck.
