Default CD Changer issue

I've had my used A6 3.2 for a couple of months now, and only just used the CD player. It played for a couple of seconds, then was quiet (like it was searching or buffering), then played again. BTW, the car was not moving at the time.

This happened no matter which disc position I used (I tried 1 and 2)

Finally, I removed the CD, and took it upstairs to load it into my iPod, which plays very nicely through the MMI system.

Is this a common issue with CD changer? I need to upgrade my MMI software, and am concerned that if it's not reading discs properly that could make software updates problematic.

I'd appreciate any insights or experiences you have...

Is it happening on all the CD's? If you noticed this issue with a burned copy then try using the original.

I've only tried it with new CDs I'd purchased at a music store, not with MP3 discs or homemade ones.

Thanks.
