They do have a mind of their own! Heck, we used to name all our cars going back to the early 1920s. Err, they were always female names. I think there was a reason for that

It just fell through! The guy called his wife to tell her that he had bought the car and when she heard that it had 140,000 miles she told him that he was crazy and revoked his permission slip. Oh well!

Congrats Kevin. Tell the new owner that they are very lucky to get the car and introduce them to the forum...perhaps they'll become an active member.

Kevin,

I'm very interested in the car. My wife has an 2005 3.2 without all the toys. She loves it, but this would be an awesome upgrade.

I've been looking at your service history. While the amount of work you have done speaks to your high standards and attention to this car, it also freaks me out a little given that so much stuff has been changed...sometimes more than once! One thing that I am curious about is the temp/overheating issue that it appears you have been fighting for the last 10k miles (2 new temp sensors, new t-stat, new radiator). Was this an issue and is it resolved?

Thanks.

The issue that the dealer was fighting was not an overheating issue. The radiator was replaced because a rock kicked up and put a hole in the plastic radiator. The other items were replaced earlier this year as the dealer was fighting a running lean issue. As a result of the various "little parts" being replaced, the running lean issue was isolated to between 1400 and 1700 rpms; it was running fine at all other rpm ranges. Once the running lean issue was limited to the 1400-1700 rpm range, I opted to have the intake manifold replaced. The check engine light has been dark since the dealer replaced the intake manifold approximately 2,000 miles ago. If you want the dealer's 9 years of service records on the car, PM me your e-mail address and I will send them to you.

Makes sense. Thanks for that.

I can see how the intake could be the issue. IIRC, there are three different runner length configurations.

My PM box is full, and I can imagine how long it would take me to dig through your service records (lol). I'm waiting to hear back from the wife now. Maybe we could take this to email?
